Karachi,7th APRIL 2016:The 10TH Fashion Pakistan Week powered by TDAP officially commenced on 7ththApril 2016 in Karachi. Fashion Pakistan with a long tradition of holding bi-annual fashion weeks, is the country’s leading platform for fashion designers is committed to encourage and promote upcoming fashion designers and brands. This particular installment of Fashion Pakistan Week powered by TDAP has presented trends for spring summer 2016 by 25-30 of the country’s best fashion designers and retail brands.
The line-up for Day 1 included collections by acclaimed designers Deepak Perwani,Wardha Saleem, Textile giants Lala Textiles special segment to showcase upcoming designer in Bank Alfalah Rising Talent, Kayseria, a capsule showcase titled Fashion Pakistan Trend Show where designers Maheen Karim,Obaid Shaikh,Nida Tapal and Sanam Chaudhri presented their capsule collections, the Day 1 came to an end with Maheen Khan’s street wear brand Gulabo.

Fashion Pakistan - Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Showcase saw four emerging designers showcased their collections through the Bank Alfalah Rising Talent platform at the opening of the Fashion Pakistan Week powered by TDAP. Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Programme aims to motivate, inspire and recognize young and upcoming talent in the country and provide them with opportunities to showcase their talent.
The four debut designers contending for the Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Award and trying to make a mark in the Pakistani fashion industry include Nida Sohail and Uzair Sardar from Asian Institute of Fashion Design, Syeda Urmia Naqvi and Shanza Jamil from Indus School of Arts and Architecture. The four designers exhibited their collections for the very first time at the day one of the Fashion Pakistan Week 2016 powered by TDAP, aimed at the encouraging response from the audience.
Through the award, the Bank provides a prestigious platform for young designers to showcase their designs and win a cash prize of Rs. 500,000. The best designer, chosen through a transparent voting of jurors and public, will be announced on 9 April 2016.
The Bank Alfalah Rising Talent stall at the event featured designs from the collections of the four participants who were also personally available to interact with the public and media. Audience was prompted to vote for their favorite designer through an e-voting system at the stall. Bank Alfalah representatives were also present at the event to monitor the overall procedure.
While talking about of FPW S/S 2016 powered by TDAP Sanam Chaudhri, Chairperson of Fashion Pakistan Council, said, “We are excited for yet another ground breaking event. We want to demonstrate the latest trends and innovation across the broad range of fashion in Pakistan. Fashion Pakistan is committed to developing fashion as an industry and will continue to highlight its growth and success.”

This season also marks Fashion Pakistan’s ground breaking partnership with Trade Development Authority (TDAP) as the main sponsor for FPW S/S2016.

The three days event of Fashion Pakistan week powered by TDAP is designed and managed by CKO Events Architecture, and backstage is being managed by Production 021. N-Pro (Nabila) and N-Gents continues to serve as the official hair, make-up and styling partners. The show direction for FPW s/s 2016 is by Deepak Parwani, Choreography is by the seasoned choreographer Frieha Altaf of Catwalk Events. Technical Direction (Light and Sound Design) by Zaheer Abbas. About Fashion Pakistan
Fashion Pakistan Council, established in 2007, is the local fashion fraternity's representative body created by the designers, for the designers. One of the primary objectives of the council is to educate, empower, encourage and promote local fashion designers both locally and internationally. The current board of directors include Wardha Saleem, CEO of Fashion Pakistan, Sanam Chaudhri, the Chairperson, Saniya Maskatiya, Maheen Karim, Mahin Hussain, Nauman Arfeen and Obaid Shaikh, all serve as directors of the Fashion Pakistan Council.
