MOMINA & DURAID FILMS PRESENT ‘PARWAAZ HAY JUNOON’ - A TRIBUTE TO PAKISTAN AIR FORCE

Karachi September 7, 2016: Momina & Duraid Films held a press conference to announce their upcoming cinematic venture Parwaaz Hay Junoon that pays a tribute to Pakistan Air Force for its commitment to protect and defend the freedom our nation stands for.  This mega movie will be released on Eid-ul-Azha 2017, which also coincides with the Air Force Week thus making it the most appropriate time to acknowledge and express our gratitude to our fighter pilots and the entire force behind them for their dedicated service to the nation.

Producer of Parwaaz Hay Junoon, Momina Duraid announced that MD Films second cinematic venture will feature in leading roles the most sought after celebrities of Pakistan’s entertainment industry, including the heartthrob of millions, Hamza Ali Abbasi and the dashing Osman Khalid Butt. The female lead of the movie is yet not chosen and suggestions are invited from the viewers as to whom they want to see opposite these talented male leads. Other than the main leads, most of the supporting characters will be played by real time cadets, fighter pilots and air force personnel to enhance the authenticity of the project. This film will mark the directorial debut of Haseeb Hasan who has previously mesmerized the television audiences with hit serials like Diyar-e-Dil and Mann Mayal. The script for Parwaaz Hay Junoon is written by the famous novelist and drama writer Farhat Ishtiaq who has given us hit projects like Humsafar, Udaari and Bin Roye.

Speaking about the film, producer of the movie Momina Duraid said, “When it comes to men behind flying machines, Pakistan Air Force ranks today as one of the best air forces in the world. It’s an honour and a proud privilege for us to be able to produce Parwaaz Hay Junoon, the first ever cinematic venture, in association with Pakistan Air Force, which is planned to hit the silver screens on Eid-ul-Azha, September 2017, releasing worldwide InshaAllah. It gives us an opportunity to bring to the nation a passionate story of brave men and women who must rise above the earth to the top of the atmosphere, to guard and protect our motherland, Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Sultana Siddiqui President HUM Network said, “HUM Network has always focused on issues for the betterment of society. Films on the armed forces are extremely important so that our people can learn the meanings of patriotism, honour and integrity and should be able to appreciate the huge contributions made by our forces to provide us a safe haven. In collaboration with the Air Force we will be presenting what real heroes are and what their sacrifices, their dedication, their courage and their deep connection with the soil have been and are towards our beloved country.

Speaking about making a film on Pakistan Air Force, Air Commodore Syed Muhammad Ali Director Media Affairs PAF said, “Flying is a very demanding profession and producing a commercial film on this profession is even more demanding. PAF is respected world over due to its glorious history and rich traditions. The Pakistani nation holds PAF in the highest esteem and wants to know about its countless epics of bravery either by reading books or watching documentaries. Keeping the aspirations of our nation in mind the idea of Momina & Duraid Films to produce a feature film portraying heroic PAF characters is very noble. I am fully aware of the fact that it won't be easy but believe me if we succeed in producing a quality film it will be definitely a blockbuster and at the same time service to the nation. I m sure that this movie will not only highlight the sacrifices rendered by PAF for the nation but also prove to be a harbinger of change for the Pakistani cinema.”

Shooting for the film will begin in October 2016. HUM Films will be the official distribution and marketing partner for the movie with HUM Network Limited as official media partner.
