The Hum Network’s QMobile Showcase ended on a high note
Karachi, 22nd April 2017: The 3rd and last day of QMobile Hum Showcase witnessed the top designers of the country. The 3 daylong event in partnership with QMobile featured the work of Pakistan's most illustrious and sought-after designers showcasing both ready-to-wear and luxury fashion for Spring/Summer 2017 season.
Last day of the 3 day long fashion week saw design collections from top designers of the country. The inspirational Shamaeel Ansari’s collection ‘I am Red’ was themed around love, ambition and passion; Jewellery for this segment was by Nazneen Tariq. Zaheer Abbas showed his astronomy inspired collection ‘cosmology’. Kayseria, presented a collection of Bengali traditional outfits with Victorian influence from the colonial era. Sania Maskatiya brilliantly showcase her formal luxury pret collection based on east/west fusion with metallic colours; the collection was complemented by shoes from Charles and Keith. Chapter 2 by Khaadi comprised of pure hand-woven and hand crafted fabrics. Designer extraordinaire, Ahmed Bham’s collection was fine blend of linen, wool and silks. The show ended with the maestro Umar Sayeed’s collection of denims, animal imagery, and bohemian accessories complimented with intricate embroidery and delicate beadwork.
QMobile Hum Showcase proudly partnered with Qmobile; hair and make-up was by Nabila’s N-Pro and N-Gents, the show was directed by the veteran fashion designer Rizwan Beyg, the incomparable by Production 021 was incharge of the event design and show execution and the event’s PR was handled by Take-II PR and Media Management.
Sultana Siddiqui, President of Hum Network, emphasized the need for setting high standards in fashion and said, 'The Hum Network has always invested time and effort in supporting talent, whether in the realm of film, television and music or in this case, fashion. Our Bridal Couture Week platform is now in its 14th edition, regularly taking place twice a year. It is watched the world over, bringing forward the latest trends in Pakistani bridal fashion. Now, with Showcase, we want to bring the spotlight upon Pakistani pret and luxury-pret. We are excited to be steering fashion away from the run-of-the-mill and with some of the country's best designers in our lineup, we are focusing on content that is creative and original.'

Veteran designer Rizwan Beyg who stepped in as show director explains that 'Showcase' will seek to promote real fashion. 'We want to present fashion that is truly creative on a non-political platform which doesn't require membership and where ateliers are selected on merit. This may not be ready-to-wear that is immediately marketable and we hope that our lineup of designers understand this and create exciting, cutting-edge statements.'
